ThePEG / Herwig++ Wiki
Unlike the homepages of ThePEG and Herwig++ which are modified only infrequently, the Wiki is the space for up-to-date information and discussion.
For now, the three main areas here are download links, FAQ and other user guides and instructions for bug reporting:
Download
Most users will want to use one of the released tarballs of Herwig++. They can be found on the downloads page and also together with the more frequent snapshot tarballs. If you have access to CERN AFS, you could also use a version that has been packaged by GENSER.
If you feel more adventurous, you can get the source code for ThePEG and Herwig++ directly from our SVN repository. Note that the SVN versions are not for production use.
The online SVN browser is ideal for a quick look at the code.
Help and User Guides
First of all, we have the FAQs.
For the impatient, there's the really short installation guide.
More detailed instructions are in the Herwig++ user guide pages.
See TracGuide for technical problems with the wiki and bugtracking system itself.
Bug reporting / tracking
Anyone can view the list of bug tickets: click View Tickets in the titlebar.
To submit new bug reports, however, you will first need to register with the Herwig++ authors. Send a preferred login and password to herwig at projects.hepforge.org. Please do not send a password that you use for anything important, the current login mechanism transmits it in cleartext.
After registration, you can use your login name to file new bug reports. First, click on Login in the title bar, then New Ticket. To get email updates about progress on your ticket, specify an email address in the Settings.
For a complete list of local wiki pages, see TitleIndex.
