Release of Jimmy 4.2

Now available from the CEDAR downloads page. It is intended for use with HERWIG 6.510.

• Includes versions of all necessary CERNLIB routines - no longer needs to be linked against CERNLIB.
• Used SAVE consistently throughout. Doesn't need the -fno-automatic compile flag anymore.

Beta release of Jimmy 4.2

This is now available for testing from the CEDAR downloads page. It should link to any Herwig 6.507 library, but if you want to use a CEDAR distribution, use Herwig 6.507 cedar patch 2, also on the downloads page. Here is the draft release note.

BUG FIX

You need to use HERWIG 6.507 or above to avoid this bug.

Version 4.1

Bug report from Ian Hinchliffe - JMEFIN was writing out a modified cross section even when JIMMY was only being used for underlying event. This did not affect the event generation, but was confusing. Now fixed. Bug report from Bryan Webber. JMINIT was testing on IPRO not ABS(IPRO), which bombed out for processes interface using the Les Houche accord. Now fixed.

Version 4.0

First version to allow JIMMY to be used properly as an underlying event to small-cross section process. PTJIM sets the minimum PT of the secondary scatters. PTMIN is independent of this and can be used to set the minimum PT of a harder QCD 2 to 2 scatter or some other process. To recover JIMMY running in it's original form, where the QCD minijet cross section is eikonalised and the total hard cross sections is calculated, set JMUEO (Jimmy underlying event option) to 0.
